Women in Data Science - Virtual Conference

On March 20th and March 21st, the Women in Data Science conference was supposed to be held at Carnegie Mellon University. Due to the current situation, it has been turned into a virtual conference with a set of moderated panels. Registration is free.

WiDS Pittsburgh @CMU was held for the first time in 2018 and had nearly 150 local participants including students, faculty, companies, non-profits, and campus organizations. WiDS is an international conference primarily located in Stanford, CA with 150+ satellite conferences across every continent except Antarctica. In 2019, over 120,000 people attended the conference in person and via the livestream and Facebook Live. The purpose of WiDS is “to inspire and educate data scientists worldwide, regardless of gender, and support women in the field”; the conference features exclusively female speakers from academia and industry.

This year, WiDS Pittsburgh@CMU will be a set of virtual, moderated panels on March 20th and March 21st. Attendees will be able to listen to and engage with data science leaders and graduate students working in related fields on both industry and academic opportunities as well as submit resumes for potential opportunities with industry sponsors.
